Sammamish America's Friendliest Town

A rural area for most of its existence the town of Sammamish is a newer community compared to most. It wasn't until homes, shopping centers, and schools were built in the 1970s and 1980s that the plateau population began to boom. After a vote in 1991 to join neighboring Issaquah failed, the city finally was incorporated in 1999. The result is one of King County's fastest growing towns with vast natural beauty on the eastern banks of the extraordinary Lake Sammamish. In fact, 2012 Forbes ranked Sammamish as the number one friendliest city in America.

Sammamish is a combination of small-town community and suburban character. The city has the benefit of remote living with a unique core of urban lifestyles and conveniences.
